LEH, Jan 3: EC Education, LAHDC Leh, Konchok Stanzin convened a review meeting regarding the functioning and progress of education system in the district.
Addressing the meeting, EC Konchok urged upon the Government schools to share their initiatives that will help to provide a platform of strong ideas in new education policies. A threadbare discussion took place on the grievances and demands put forth by the Principal/Headmaster of each school and also discussed about the past and present education scenario of Leh.
EC further assured to fill the vacant posts of teaching and non-teaching staff in all schools in Leh district. He also informed about the committee that has been set up to look into transfer cases and filling up of posts on priority bases.
A number of issues were also raised by the area Councillors and Principals regarding the schools basic infrastructure, installation of central heating system, compound walling, setting up of solar power plant, fully equipped computer lab, 27×7 electricity supply and other basic facilities. In response, EC Konchok assured to consider their demands in a given time frame.
The meeting was attended by the Councillors, AD Education, officials of Education department and Principals/ Headmasters of Higher/ High Schools of Leh District.
