BMS stages protest against ‘wrong Labour Policies’

JAMMU, Jan 3: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) here today staged a protest demonstration against the Government policy on labour and employment due to which “unemployment is raising day by day.”
Addressing the protesting workers, BMS leader, Harbans Choudhary demanded minimum wages in J&K at par with other Union Territories.
He also demanded equal pay for equal work, proper implementation of Labour Laws, ESI and PF in all the establishments, abolition of fix term employment and contract labour system in perennial nature of work.

Ashok Choudhary, BMS General Secretary said, in industrial sector there is no proper implementation of ESI and PF as in Samba and Kathua as workers are taken from open labour market and by evening they are paid wages in cash and “officials of PF and ESI are also hands in glove.”
Subash Verma, BMS president demanded regularisation of all the mission and scheme workers, Anganwadi workers and daily wagers etc and alleged that presently workers and employees are being exploited on the name of contractual and fix term employment and even wages are not being given to them on equal pay for equal work norm.
Regularisation of daily wagers was also demanded.
Rohit Seth, Ravi Hans, Roop Lal and Shamsher Chand also addressed the workers
