UDHAMPUR, Jan 3: Water Works (PHE) Employees Association, district unit Udhampur has urged upon the Lt Governor GC Murmu to release the pending wage of the PHE workers.
In a meeting of the Association held under the chairmanship of Vijay Sharma, district general secretary, the members expressed strong resentment against the State authorities for not releasing the pending wages of the PHE workers since long. They alleged that due to denial of wages for the last 58 months, their families are facing starvation.
They urged upon the Lt Governor to issue orders for the release of workers’ wages before the coming Lohri festival. They also demanded regularisation of temporary/ consolidated workers, conduct of DPC of all cadres, remove shortage of staff and change designation of the workers as per their nature of job.
Senior trade unionists- Prabhu Dayal, Amit Dubey, Suraj Parkash, Dinesh Kesar, Baldev Raj, Krishan Chand and Chuni Lal also spoke in the meeting.
