Jammu, Mar 22: A Passen- ger Reservation System (PRS) for providing railway reservation was inaugurated by Lt Gen D S Hooda AVSM, VSM the General Officer Commanding White Knight Corps at Kishtwar today, in the presence of a large gathering of dignitaries of the Civil Administration and senior Army officers.
The PRS which is situated at the general area of the Kishtwar Helipad, will meet a long felt need for the provision of railway reservation facility in the remote region, where no such facility for railway reservation existed earlier. The PRS will provide the much needed railway reservation facility for all civilian brethren, as well as Army and Paramilitary Forces personnel deployed in the region.
This initiative has been fully designed and established with the efforts of the Rashtriya Rifles sector. The Indian Railways have extended all requisite assistance in making this facility fully functional in a very short time span of three months, from conceptualisation to completion.
The BSNL authorities also responded very positively, in extending a dedicated leased data line for this facility. The establishment of the PRS facility comes as a great relief for all its future beneficiaries. The civil fraternity were highly appreciative of the Army for the initiative taken to establish the PRS for the benefit of one and all.
