JAMMU, Jan 5: Different organisations here today condemned the attack on Nankana Sahib Gurdwara by miscreants in Pakistan and staged protests against the vandalism at the religious place.
Sikh organizations held a joint protest outside Digiana Ashram under the banner of Sikh United Front (SUF) J&K. Leading the protest, Sudershan Singh Wazir, chairman, SUF J&K lambasted Pakistan government for its double standards by on one hand opening Kartarpur corridor and on other hand some miscreants pelted stones at Nankana Sahib.
Wazir also strongly condemned the killing of minority Sikh community member in Pakistan.
Senior congress leader Raman Bhalla also joined the protest. While addressing protesters, Bhalla termed the attack on Nankana Sahib as shameful, disgraceful and utterly vile and unjustifiable.
He further said that Government of India must convey the concerns in strongest manner to Pakistan and ask it to check such elements and prevent the recurrence of any such mischievous incident against religious shrines of minorities in that country.
The Sikh organizations which participated in the protest were Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Sewa Society, Sikh Naujwan Sabha, AISSF, Sikh Welfare Society, Shiromani Youth Akali Dal, Istri Akali Dal, local Gurdwara committees. Members of DGPC Jammu also joined the protest.
J&K NCP Youth Wing condemned the attack on Nankana Sahib and staged a protest demonstration against Pakistan where the protesters raised anti-Pak slogans. The protest was led by Rishi Kaul Kilam, National Joint Secretary & Spokesperson NYC. Speaking on the occasion Rishi said people of Pakistan, especially those responsible for attack on Nankana Sahib should be ashamed of demanding change in the name of Nankana Sahib.
Meanwhile, Former Minister, Thakur Randhir Singh has also condemned vandalism at Gurdwara Nankana Sahib. He said that Indian Government should put pressure on Pakistani Prime Minister, Imran Khan to take immediate steps to ensure safety, security and welfare of Sikh community there.
Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) took out anti-Pakistan protest rally against the attack on Nankana Sahib in Pakistan. The protest rally was led by JWAM president, Sunil Dimple who while addressing the protesters condemned the forcible conversion of Sikh and Hindu girls into Islam and frequent kidnapping and raping of minority women in Pakistan.
