ASKPC discusses issues of displaced Pandits

JAMMU, Jan 5: All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) held a meeting here, today to deliberate upon the political scenario of country in general and Union Territory of J&K in particular.
The meeting expressed its concern over the mysterious silence of Government of India over the issue of Kashmiri Pandit refugees. It said at Kashmiri Pandits exodus and genocide is the biggest human tragedy of 20th century and with the dawn of independence our countrymen enjoyed the fruits of Independence but the entire Kashmiri Pandit community was deprived of equal rights, fundamental rights and including right to live.
It said a militarized Islamic Jihad ensured KPs physical genocide and exodus. The meeting was presided over by Dr T K Bhat its general secretary.
The prominent community members who attended the meeting were Kuldeep Raina, chairman (SVS), H N Jattu (AIKPC), M K Bangroo, Ravinder Razdan, Bharat Bushan Bhat Goswami, R K Wangnoo, Tej Pandita, Ravi Raina, Ram Krishen, Veena Gurtoo, Rubi Jee, Sunil Bhat, Ashok Dhar, Bimal Ji Wantoo.
It was decided in the meeting that ASKPC being the premier organization of KPS will reach out to community members in entire county and aboard for building a consensus on various important issues confronting the minuscule minority community of Kashmiri Pandits. In this program the delegates of ASKPC will contact community members with a view to ascertain their opinion on matters of return and rehabilitation to its original land of birth. They also discussed to meet Government for redressal of community problems like political empowerment of community under new dispensation, formulation of ordinance regarding management of temple and shrines in the Valley, employment package for youths of community.
The meeting also discussed restarting of Martand News Paper the official organ of community in this regard expert opinion will be ascertained from prominent journalists and economists. ASKPC has also cautioned community members not to fell prey to miscreants, self styled leaders who are spreading rumours unnecessarily.
Besides, tributes were paid to Bansi Lal Handu secretary ASKPC who passed away on December 2019 at Delhi. His selfless services to community were admired by every participant.
