Barley falls on adequate supply, reduced offtake

NEW DELHI, Mar 23:  In thin trading, barley prices fell by Rs 20 per quintal due to adequate supplies on the wholesale grains market today.
Elsewhere, other grains continued to prevail in a tight range on scattered enquiries and remained unchanged.
Marketmen said adequate supplies against reduced offtake mainly kept pressure on barley prices.
In the national capital, barley declined by Rs 20 to Rs 1,380-1,400 per quintal.

Wheat MP (deshi) 2,060-2,260, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,590-1,595, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,595-1,600, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 210, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 210, Roller flour mill 830-850 (50 kg), Maida 885-930 (50 kg) and Sooji 990-1,020 (50kg).
Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,000, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice, 9,500, Basmati common new 7,400-7,500, Rice Pusa-(1121) new 6,800-7,500, Permal raw 2,250-2,300, Permal wand 2,450-2,550, Sela 3,500-3,600 and Rice IR-8 1,800-1,850, Bajra 1,405-1,410, Jowar yellow 1,450-1,500, white 2,250-2,450, Maize 1,510-1,520, Barley 1,380-1,400, Rajasthan 1,080-1,090.
