Nation First Trust discusses women security with SSP Ramban

RAMBAN, Jan 7: The Women Cell of Nation First Trust (a social organization) today met the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramban, Anita Sharma and discussed various issues pertaining to women and their security.
The team led by Chairman of Trust, Neeraj Singh Chib and comprising active members including Karuna Thakur, Lalita Thakur, Nishu Rajput, Dr Damini Thakur, Neha Chib, Diksha Devi, Luxmi Devi, Pooja Devi and Ambika Devi explained the situation to her.
The women team also handed over a memorandum to SSP and informed her that despite the significant social and physical development in the Ramban, there has been an increasing concern for safety of women. They said that the current rate of incidents against women including eve teasing has affected the education and employment scenario of women in Ramban, so it is very important to provide safe environment to women in order to achieve higher growth trajectories in the coming times.
They said that there is a need to ensure safety and security of women at their working and other visiting places in district to boost confidence among students as well as working women. Police and civil administration should ensure safety and security besides providing opportunities to them for their overall socio-economic development, they added.
The SSP assured the team members that safety and security of people especially for women coming from all walks of life is on priority of department across the district.
