COIMBATORE, Mar 23: The Woodbriar Group has won the maximum six awards in The Golden Leaf India Awards-Southern Tea Competition (TGLIA-STC).
The final tasting session of ninth Edition of TGLIA-STC was held yesterday at Coonoor in Nilgiris District and the results were announced this afternoon at the Golden Jubille Celebrations of Coonoot Tea Traders Association.
While United Nilgiris Tea Estates won five awards, Harrisons Malayalam, Joonktulle Tea and Industries and Vignesh Estate Tea Factory won three awards each, Kanan Devan Hill Plantations, Kilkotagiri Tea and Coffee Estate, Bhavani Tea and Produce bagged one award each, a United Planters Association of Southern India release said.
The 61 shortlisted teas qualified in the final tea screening was evaluated by a five-member Jury, it said. (PTI)
