Narcotic smuggler arrested with heroin

KATHUA, Jan 13: In a major breakthrough Kathua police succeeded in arresting a notorious narcotic supplier here, today and seized 110 grams of chitta (heroin) from his possession.
This was disclosed by SSP Kathua, Shridhar Patil while talking to media persons. He said Kathua police team led by DySP, Mehboob Majid, SHO Kathua, RS Chib laid a trap on drug suppliers and succeeded in arresting one of the big suppliers of narcotics in the town.
He was arrested when he was coming from Punjab area with a consignment of 110 grams of contraband drugs known as chitta (heroin) which was recovered from his possession. He was identified as Amandeep Singh, son of Baldev Singh resident of WNo 8, Kathua. He was arrested under FIR No 10/2020 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act.
SSP said that he was operating in the Kathua area since past and always evading the arrest as he was already booked in many narcotics cases lying pending in the police records.
He said that the police will also approach the Court for booking the trans-border Narco smuggling under Public Safety Act (PSA). He said police is also raiding the various locations to arrest his associates after further interrogation of arrested Narcotic smuggler.
