JAMMU, Jan 14: 3rd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Subash Gupta has awarded four years imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000 to Girdhari Lal, son of Punnu Ram of Rajiv Nagar for outraging the modesty of a teen-age girl.
“The accused is convicted for an offence relating to criminal use of force which led to outraging of modesty of the prosecutrix as assessed by the Radiologist”, the court said, adding “taking into consideration the mitigation and aggravated circumstances as involved in the present matter, age of the accused, his past antecedent, first offender, gravity, heinousness and punishment provided for the commission of the offence under Section 354 of Ranbir Penal Code and other relevant factors, the accused is sentenced to imprisonment for a period of four years and a fine of Rs 10,000”.
