Two killed in road accidents

JAMMU, Jan 14: Two persons were killed today in separate road accidents occurred in city outskirts.
According to a police official, a female pedestrian namely Kulsama Begum (29) wife of Mousin Aslam Khan, resident of Guripura in Budgam district and at present living in Azad Colony, near Army gate, Sunjuwan (Jammu), was hit by an unknown truck near Gujjar Charitable Trust , Bypass Road Channi Himmat.
He said in the mishap, the woman received serious injuries for which she was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where doctors declared her as brought dead.
“The body of the woman was sent for postmortem while a case FIR number 12/2020 under Sections 279/304-A IPC was registered in this connection at police station Channi Himmat and further investigation started,” the official added.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist was hit and seriously injured by a speeding tipper at near Green Land Palace, lower Roop Nagar, Jammu. The injured bike rider was immediately rushed to GMCH Jammu but doctors there declared him as brought dead.
The body of the deceased namely Subhash Chander son of Amar Nath, resident of lower Roop Nagar, was handed over to his legal heirs after autopsy. A case in this connection was registered at police station Janipur and further investigation started.
