SAMBA, Jan 15: The members of Lubana Sikh community today staged a strong protest demonstration against the district administration at DC Office complex, Nandani Hills here over the failure of administration in issuing of caste certificates.
A large number of residents of border villages of Samba today gathered at DC Office complex Samba under the leadership of Reena Choudhary, Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Pangdour and raised slogans against the officers of the Revenue Department Samba. They alleged that the Tehsildar Samba is not issuing the caste certificates of Sikh Lubana community youth belonging to the border Villages of samba. They said although few days ago they have staged protest regarding this issue, but the district administration did not resolve the same, due to which the youth of the border villages are facing lot of problems.
They said many youth have been selected in Army recruitment rally and they have also presented the documents in concerned units but the Revenue Department did not issue their caste certificates.
Later they met with Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Rohit Khajuria and discussed the matter with him. DC Samba, Rohit Khajuria listened their grievances and assured them that certificates will be issued as was precedence earlier. After the assurance of Deputy Commissioner they lifted the protest.
While talking with media Person Sarpanch Reena Choudhary said that, many youth of border village of samba has been selected in defence forces and they presented their documents in their concerned authorities but the Tehsildar Samba says that he will written on caste certificate as Hindu Lubana not Sikh Lubana, but they need Sikh Lubana certificate. “However we met Deputy commissioner Samba and he assured that the precedence will be followed as before”, she added.
