KARGIL Jan 16, : Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan took stock of the overall functioning of the 44 MW Chutak Hydro Electric (HE) Project and the status of power generation from the project in the Winter season during his visit to the Hydel Project today.
General Manager (GM) Electrical, NHPC Lhenchup Lepchay, engineers of NHPC besides other concerned officers accompanied the CEC.
On the occasion CEC was given a tour of the Power Control Room and other sections of the project where the GM Electrical NHPC and engineers apprised him about its overall functioning, salient features and the status of power generated during the current winter season.
Feroz Khan was informed that at present five to eight MW power is generated from the project during normal hours while as eight to 10 MW is generated during peak hours.
The CEC while underlining the importance of Chutak Hydro Electric Project for the economic growth of the district besides catering to the varied energy needs of consumers lauded the efforts of the engineers in keeping the project in satisfactory running condition despite inhospitable weather conditions.
He also urged engineers to work with continued dedication and commitment in smooth operation of the project so as to ensure better power supply to the consumers.
