JAMMU, Jan 17: The workshop on sensitisation about the implementation of Kayakalp and National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) in Government Medical College and its associated Hospitals was held here today.
Dr Sunanda Raina Principal and Dean GMC and AHs Jammu chaired the workshop where in all Medical Superintendents and Deputy MS along with Nodal Officers and key officers and officials who can play an important role in implementation of Kayakalp and NQAS in GMC and its Associated Hospitals were present in the workshop.
Dr Narinder Butyal State Nodal Officer Quality Assurance J&K was the main resource person for the workshop.
After the launch of ”Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA)” on October 2, 2014, ”Kayakalp” initiative was launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on May 15, 2015 to complement these efforts.
It is pertinent to mention here that with the approval of Financial Commissioner Atul Duloo, Principal and Dean GMC and AHs Jammu Dr Sunanda Raina had constituted an Institutional Quality Assurance Committee for Government Medical College and its Associated Hospitals, Jammu comprising of Dr Arun Sharma Medical Superint-endent Super Speciality Hospital Jammu as Chairman/Nodal Officer; Dr Rajeshwer Sharma Medical Superintendent CD Hospital as Member Secretary and Deputy Medical Superintendents of Super Speciality Hospital, SMGS Hospital, GMC Jammu and Psychiatric Hospital as its members, State Nodal Officer Quality Assurance State Health Society, National Health Mission J&K as co-opted member of the committee.
The committee had meetings to chart out the schedule of rolling out Kayakalp and NQAS in GMC and AHs Jammu under guidance of Principal and Dean GMC and AHs Jammu Dr Sunanda Raina.
