LEH, Jan 18: The week-long cultural workshop for children organized by Academy of Culture, Art and Language, UT Ladakh concluded today.
This workshop was a part of series of Academy activities to provide platform and revive the intangible heritage of Ladakh culture among young kids. A large number of young children from different parts of Leh district attended the 7-day cultural workshop.
Nazir Hussain, Deputy Secretary, Culture was the chief guest at the valedictory function. While speaking on the occasion, Hussain, hoped that this kind of workshops will definitely help the young folk of Ladakh to carry such rich traditions and cultural values among our younger generation.
Earlier, in his welcome speech, Tsewang Paljor, Deputy Secretary Culture, Cultural Academy Leh said such workshops will boost the young minds for understanding the cultural values in their day to day life. He said that it is prime responsibility of every Ladakhis to protect and conserve our rich traditional and cultural values.
Workshop trainer Tsetan Angchuk said that he feels proud for being a part of this workshop and urged the young trainees for collective efforts to preserve their cultural and moral values and maintain its importance.
During the week-long workshop, the experts and resource persons from different fields imparted training to the young participants and made them sensitized how it is important to preserve the age old traditional cultural moral values parallel to materialistic development.
Incharge of the workshop, Lundup Dorjey, District Cultural Officer, Ladakh Academy of Art Culture and Languages, Leh conducted the proceedings of the programme.
