Police pensioners meet V K Singh, highlight pay anomaly issue

JAMMU, Jan 21: A deputation of Non-Gazetted Police Pensioners Welfare Forum called on General (Retd) V K Singh, Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, during the later’s visit at Tikri Udhampur, and demanded implementation of the Government order on pay anomaly with effect from the year 1996, when 5th Pay Commission was implemented in the State.
The deputation, led by Ajit Singh, Chairman of the Forum, explained that the Government order number 229-F of 2014, dated 17-10-2014 regarding pay anomaly is being given prospective effect thus depriving them benefits of the Pay Commission.
Even as various Pay Anomaly Committee were formed and they gave their opinions and approval from time to time, there was no implementation of the recommendations, said Ajit Singh and gave reference of first and second Pay Anomaly Committees, which were constituted in 2009 and 2011, respectively.
Informing that another Pay Anomaly Committee was constituted for the third time in the year 2016, the Forum urged that recommendations of this panel should not meet the fate of earlier committees but must be implemented at the earliest in a time bound manner.
The office of the DGP has informed the Finance Department that that Rs 5,93,25000 are required for payment to the retiree ASIs and HCs on account of pay anomaly, the said amount may kindly be released in faour of the beneficiaries, urged Ajit Singh.
The Union Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured a positive response . The deputation comprised of Pawan Singh, Rashpal Singh, Arvinder Kumar Sharma, Girdhari Lal, Kartar Singh, Prem Chand, Simar Singh, Prakash Chand, Mohd Sadiq, Romesh Singh, Prem Chand, Sham Lal, Rattan Chand, Shanker Dass, Krishan Lal, Sansar Chand and others.
