KATHUA, Jan 22: The young advocate, Abhishek Khajuria was elected unopposed as new president of Young Lawyers Association (YLA) Kathua. The Chief Returning Officer and the convener of the Election Committee Advocate Prem Chand Sharma beside other returning officers and members of Election Committee declared him as president of Young Lawyers Association Kathua today on the last date notified for the election of president of YLA, as no other nomination was received till 4:30 pm except the nomination of Abhishek Khajuria who had filed his nomination on January, 20.
The Chief Returning Officer also issued the election certificate in favour of elected president of YLA Abhishek Khajuria countersigned by other members of Election Committee which includes Adv. Rahul Sharma, Adv. Anil Kalotra, Adv. Munish Mahajan, Adv. Adarsh Kumar and Adv. Sumreshwar Singh outgoing president of YLA.
On this occasion, while addressing media persons Khajuria expressed gratitude of all the members of YLA and Election Committee besides the parent body district Bar Association Kathua who provided all the logistic support for the smooth, free & fair conduct of elections of YLA. He also promised to work to solve the all the problems being facing by the young advocates with the cooperation of District Bar Association Kathua.
The president of District Bar Association Kathua Ajat Shatru Sharma assured all cooperation and support in times to come for the welfare of young advocates and other senior bar members to newly elected president.
Others who present on the occasion includes Adv. Devinder Singh, vice president of District Bar Association, Kathua, Adv. Kamaljeet Singh general secretary, Adv. Shrikant Sagar Raina press secretary, Adv. Anil Singh Andotra, spokesperson, Adv. Pawandeep Singh and V.S. Billowria joint secretaries, Adv. Rajesh Kumar, treasurer, Adv. Surjeet Kumar joint treasurer, and other members of the executive body and other prominent young advocates.
