JAMMU, Jan 22: PHE Employees United Front (PHEEUF) has urged upon the State Administration to release pending wages of the PHE daily rated/ consolidated workers and also regularize them as per the declaration of the Government.
Talking to media-persons here today, senior Front leaders Bakshi Singh, Balbhadar Raj, Kulwant Singh, Tanveer Hussain and others expressed their strong resentment over the attitude of the State Administration. They alleged that workers are being denied their hard earned wages while they are not being regularised.
They said there are 22053 daily wagers in the department and not even a single one has been regularized during past 25 yrs. Not J&K has been turned into UT and the workers have high hopes from the new system of Administration. They alleged that LG Administration is paying no attention towards the issues and problems of daily wagers. Even the minimum Wages act is not being implemented as per Central laws.
They said the Front had approached the LG Administration some time back for the resolution of their genuine and justified issues. But unfortunately, all the issues have remained unaddressed. Now, the Employees United Front has left with the only option to launch united struggle for the resolution of their pending issues.
For first phase of agitation they resolved to observed 24-hour strike on Feb 7 to Feb 8, 2020. The next course of action will be decided on the response of the State Administration, they added.
