JAMMU, Jan 23: The 123rd birth anniversary of Neta Ji Subash Chander Bose was celebrated with great enthusiasm and charm by various political and social organizations today in which the glowing tributes were paid to this great son of India.
The J&K Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) held a function here, to remember Neta Ji. On this occasion Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) was the chief guest and advocate Purnima Sharma , Deputy Mayor, JMC was the guest of honour. Corporators and JMC staff also attended the function to pay tributes to Neta Ji. Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta while paying tributes to Neta Ji said he (Neta Ji) believed that non violence can never succeed in attaining freedom and the nation has to show resistance as well.
Paying tributes to Neta Ji president JKFFA , Ved Gandotra said “ I bow before the Neta Ji who was a great stalwart and who committed himself towards ensuring India is free and its people lead a life of dignity,. We must make serious endeavours to fulfill his ideals in creating a strong India of his dreams”, he added.
Congress organized a function at Neta Ji Subash Chander Bose Statue Chowk, Maheshpura Jammu to remember the great freedom fighter.
PCC Chief, G.A. Mir presided over the function which was attended by senior leaders and functionaries of PCC, DCC presidents & functionaries and frontal wings of the party, corporators besides large number of workers.
Prominent among them includes Madan Lal Sharma (Ex-MP); PCC vice presidents Raman Bhalla, Mula Ram, G.M. Saroori, Kanta Bhan, chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma, general secretaries Th. Abdul Ghani (DCCP Poonch), Indu Pawar (Ex-MLA & president Mahila Congress), Th. Shiv Dev Singh (Ex-MLA), S.S. Shinghari, S. PCC Chief said that Netaji Subash Chander Bose was a revolutionary freedom fighter who also led the Indian National Congress as its president 1938 and his contributions will always be remembered by every Indian. He said that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was revolutionary par excellence who took the struggle for independence beyond the Indian borders. He recalled the historic fight & resistance put out by Indian National Army under the leadership of Subash Chander Bose , which is a unique chapter in Indian history.
National Panthers Party (NPP) along with other progressive and secular political activists paid rich tributes to Neta Ji who disappeared in an air crash in 1945 while proceeding to his destination as the Founder Head of Azad Hind Fauz (Indian National Army).
Paying tributes to Neta Ji JNPP supremo Prof Bhim Singh said that Neta Ji was one of the greatest heroes who battled on the political ground from India to Japan and his final battle was when he established a provincial Independent Indian Government under the Indian National Army and advanced to Rangoon (Burma). Prof Bhim Singh expressed surprise on the silence of all ruling parties from Congress to BJP for not bestowing the honour of Bharat Rattan on Neta Ji.
District Congress Committee Udhampur conducted a meeting in the town under the chairmanship of district president of the party, Krishan Chander Bhagat to pay floral tributes to Neta Ji Subash Chander Bose. While addressing the gathering on the occasion Krishan Chander Bhagat said that Indians can never forget the sacrifices of Neta Ji and his efforts for country’s independence.
