AIIA hospitals to be set up in J&K: Naik

Srinagar, Jan 23: Union Minister for Law and Justice, Communications and IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad today complimented the young sportsmen and said that Baramulla district is bestowed with enormous talent in sports.
He said that every effort shall be made on the part of Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to appreciate and felicitate these players at National and other levels.
He inaugurated Indoor Sports stadium Baramulla constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 7 crore. He also participated in various activities meant for overall welfare and socio-economic development of the district.

The Minister also laid the foundation stone of Mini Pavilion Block at Jhelum Stadium Baramulla that will come up at an estimated cost of Rs 35 lakh.
Later, the Minister visited Dak Bungalow Baramulla where he inspected various stalls set up by Horticulture, Agriculture and other allied departments. He also presided over a felicitation camp organised by Social Welfare Department wherein he distributed six laptops among those girl students who recently passed the 10th and 12th class examinations with flying colors.
The Minister also distributed cheques worth Rs 40000 each among beneficiaries under Marriage Assistance Scheme (MAS) and baby kits among the mothers. The Minister distributed these items under the Centrally Sponsored Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme.
Meanwhile, the Minister chaired a meeting to review the overall developmental scenario and to get the first hand appraisal of various issues.
While appreciating the role of district administration in achieving remarkable results on developmental front especially for achieving the top slot in NITI Ayog’s Delta Ranking, the Minister said that the top most priority of the present dispensation is the welfare of common masses for which various initiatives have been taken.
Terming gender justice vital for maintaining the social fabric and stability in the society, the Minister recounted the success stories of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ programme and said that various efforts and initiatives are being taken for ensuring women empowerment adding that a women post office shall also be opened in Baramulla district. He also wished Baramulla district to be a model district in the whole developmental map of the country.
Meanwhile, the Minister unveiled the district logo and inaugurated a district web portal, the salient features of which were explained by the DDC. He also e-inaugurated Bharatnet facility in 38 Panchayat halqas and held interaction with some BDC chairpersons and PRI representatives through video conferencing.
Later, the Minister met 18 delegations and deputations of the district who appraised him about their issues and demands pertaining to developmental concerns.
The Union Minister of State for AYUSH and Defense, Shripad Nayak today said that 50 bedded hospitals at a cost of Rs 12 crore would be setup in every district. He also said Gulmarg, Patnitop, Pahalgam hill stations would be promoted as AYUSH medical tourism destinations.
Meanwhile, Minister said this during a function at SKICC organised to promote AYUSH medicine here and e-inauguration of some major projects in Srinagar city.
The Minister gave a detailed overview of AYUSH and Wellness centers being established across J&K for promoting traditional and affordable healthcare across the UT particularly in rural areas.
The Union Minister assured liberal funding for upradation of health infrastructure in J&K. He said that 100 bedded All India Institute of Ayurveda in New Delhi would be set up across country including J&K.
The Minister later e-inaugurated various projects which included heritage lighting from Dalgate to Nishat and Nishat to Hazratbal along foreshore road at an estimated cost of Rs 9.98 crores, inauguration of high mast sports flood lighting system at Radapora Sports Stadium Srinagar at an estimated cost of Rs 75 lakhs, illumination of high mast sports flood lighting system at Lal Bazar sports stadium at an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakh, illumination of high mast sports flood lighting system at Chinkral Mohalla sports stadium at an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakh and Affordable Medicines Reliable Implants for Treatment (AMRIT) stores at SKIMS and SMHS.
Later a number of deputations from different areas of Srinagar met the Union Minister and apprised him about their demands.
Union Minister of State for Home, G Kishan Reddy today said that establishment of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Jammu and Kashmir would directly benefit people and reduce the gulf between them and the Government.
The Union Minister was addressing a function here today in connection with Central Government’s outreach programme. The Union Minister assured that the establishment of ACB would weed-out corrupt practices and further enhance administrative efficiency in J&K. “There would be no lacunas now in tackling the corruption and funds meant for the intending beneficiaries would reach to them on priority,” he added.
Reddy said that the Central Government’s focus right now is to bring investment in J&K to generate employment avenues for the youth.
Later, the Union Minister e-inaugurated several developmental projects in Ganderbal district worth Rs 30.07 crore. The projects included construction of new playfield at Lar, water supply schemes at Surfraw, Kangan and Haripora, construction of girls hostel at Government Degree College Kangan and construction of six class rooms including Psychology lab at Government Degree College Kangan.
He also met several delegations and interacted with the people about the implementation of the various developmental schemes.
He met scores of public deputations and individuals from different areas of the district who called on him here today.
Deputations which met the Union Minister included District Fruit Growers Association, District Traders Federation, BDCs, District Transport Association, Councilors, Development Forum Ganderbal, Pony Walas, Youth Village Committees and Auqaf members besides Civil Society members.
The delegations put forth various demands and grievances related to road widening, marketing for C-grade apple, new hydel power project, dearth of staff at and latest equipment for District Hospital, dredging of Kheer Bhawani Nallah, issuance of Golden Cards under AYUSHAN BHARAT, launch of Ladli Beti Scheme in Ganderbal, clearance of MGNAREGA liability, up-gradation of PHC Sheerpathri and ATM at Manasbal Park.
Residential accommodation for BDCs, beautification plan for town, timely completion of Central University blocks, auditorium for Women’s College, Gujjar Hostel, Degree College for Gund, buffer stock of transformers, augmentation of receiving stations in the district, protection wall along Nallah Sindh, repairing and fencing of power canal besides other demands of public importance were put forth during the interactions with the Union Minister.
The Union Minister gave a patient hearing to demands and grievances of the deputations and assured them that all of their genuine issues would be looked into and addressed accordingly.
The Union Minister said that district Ganderbal has a huge potential for tourism and central Government is committed to take all necessary steps for rapid infrastructure development in the valley to increase the footfall of tourists.
He said that the Government is committed to ensure all round development of Jammu and Kashmir and the current visit of Union Ministers is part of the initiative to take efficient governance to the doorsteps of people.
Reddy urged the people to avail the benefits of various schemes of the Government and directed the concerned to disseminate the information about the importance of the Government policies with regard to the overall development of J&K and its people.
He said various steps taken in this direction are underway and assured that the Union Government will take every possible step to complete all developmental projects which are under execution in a time-bound manner.
Reddy also visited Police Training School Manigam last evening.
While addressing the Police officers, personnel and trainees and staff of the PTS Manigam, the Minister said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has bravely fought and foiled nefarious designs of the neighbouring country since 1947 and added that J&K Police force has faced successfully uphill tasks during the past 70 years.
Complimenting the JKP, he said that Jammu Kashmir Police has overcame the challenges of law and order situations, crime prevention/ investigation, VVIP security arrangements, and has been on forefront of anti-militancy operations besides, having excellent synergy and coordination with the Army, and CAPFs.
