Srinagar, Jan 24: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) today organized a program in support of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), under the titled ‘Kashmir Supports Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA)’ where the party office bearers talked about the benefits of the Act. The event was coupled with the mega joining of new entrants into the party folds.
The event at the Tagore Hall was attended by scores of people from different areas mostly youth.
Speaking to the media persons, BJP’s Incharge J&K, Avinash Rai Khanna said that the event was organized where the educated youth, after witnessing the policies of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the party fold.
With regard to allowing other parties to carry out their activities and the release of detained political leaders, Khanna said: “We have not banned any political, any party can carry out their activities and the leaders who are under detention-their detention is well within the law and whenever the law allows, their fate will be decided accordingly.”
“We talked about the works that we are doing in the country. The fact that the qualified people have joined the party today, it suggests that they have accepted the policies of BJP,” he added.
Regarding safeguarding jobs and lands of J&K, he said that the BJP will keep the sentiments and the demographic set up in mind while taking any decision with regard to it.
The fact that the political parties boycotted the Panchayat elections, he said, it indicates that they do not want a young leadership to emerge at the village level.
“The developmental works under the leadership of Modi have started and the benefits of every scheme have started to reach to the grassroots. The opposition has also got a pivotal role to play and they should not resort to rumour mongering,” he said.
He further said that the workers of the BJP will never do anything which is going to be against the national interest. “We will do something that will be in favour of the country and its people.”
