JAMMU, Jan 24: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Mula Ram lambasted the BJP Government at the Centre for misleading the people of country in general and J&K in particular by sending a large delegation of Union Ministers.
In the meeting held here, the former minister said that the previous Government has been failed to redress grievances and sufferings of the people living in far flung areas and people of these areas were made to suffer for all basic services. He said the BJP Government was unaware of the problems and issues of the people in the rural area and did not take any step to mitigate them during their tenure.
Mula Ram strongly maintained that resentment against BJP is on the rise as most of the core issues of the general public have remained same under BJP rule. There was no respite to them from the severe water and power crisis during last five years, he said and asked the BJP Government to come clear about the development of Jammu and make it public that since 2014 how many Jammu tourism related projects have been initiated in Jammu. He said BJP leaders are just befooling the people of the country.
Taking a dig at the Centre’s move of deputing a team of Union Ministers to J&K, Hari Singh Chib, president DCC Jammu Rural said that majority of the visiting ministers had merely read about the said law in books and media but the people of J&K had lived and experienced the law. If at all, the Central Ministers had any role in the changed set up, it was to enact a law on domicile for the residents of J&K so as to save their lands and jobs. The Union Ministers further needed to take initiative for early restoration of statehood to J&K which had been demoted unjustly creating resentment amongst people in both regions of the State, Chib maintained.
Speaking on the occasion Uday Chib, president J&K Youth Congress said that the Central Government has no policy for the youth of the country. He said that the unemployment graph is rising day by day and they are watching like a mute spectators. He asked the BJP Government to fulfill its promise of 2 crore jobs to youth.
