JAMMU, Jan 25: A meeting of Congress workers of Marh and Satwari Blocks was held at Marh which was presided over by Thakur Balwan Singh (ex-MLA), general secretary PCC.
Besides stressing the need to strengthen the organization, the various problems of people were discussed in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Balwan Singh said that paddy growing farmers have suffered heavy loss due to damage of their crops in the untimely heavy rains and the farmers of rice growing belt of Marh, Kanachack, R.S.Pura, Suchetgarh, Bishnah areas of Jammu District, parts of Samba district and Hiranagar areas of Kathua district, and the Government has not provided any sort of relief so far.
He said that BJP Government has given false slogans from time to time to take measures for increasing the income of farmers and to double the same by the year 2022 but the condition of farmers is getting from bad to worse because of lack of Government initiatives for them except hallow slogans. He urged upon the UT administration and centre Government to immediately come to the rescue of suffering farming community.
Balwan Singh asked the party workers to go to the people at the grass root level and help them to ameliorate their day today problems and also make people aware about the policies and programmes of Congress party, as Congress is the only party which guarantees for peace and progress in the state and the country. Block president Saudagar Singh Saini, Ashwani Sharma, Senior Leader Lala Devi Dass, Jagdish Raj Bhagat, Ashok Saini, Gulzar Singh, Ravi Pal Sharma, Rashpal Bhardwaj and Vijay Shastri also spoke in the meeting.
