JAMMU, Jan 25: Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi today visited the campus of Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute at Industrial Estate, Bari Brahmna to review the functioning of the Institute.
This was his first visit to the Institute after assuming the office as Commissioner Secretary of the Industries and Commerce Department in the Union Territory of J&K.
On the occasion, Executive Director JKEDI, G.M. Dar, briefed the Commissioner Secretary about the functioning of the Institute.
The Secretary asked the management to ensure that maximum number of youth in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir avail the benefits of the schemes being implemented by the Institute.
The Commissioner Secretary also took stock of the ongoing construction works in the campus.
The administrative building, which is in the final stages of completion, was also inspected by him.
The upcoming infrastructure, which primarily includes an Administrative/Faculty Building, a Public Relations & Counseling Section, a Model Career Centre (MCC), a Guest House, Hostel Building and a Centre for Trainings and Skill Development (CTSD), besides security posts, is scheduled to be completed in a phased manner.
Dwivedi urged upon the Institute to intensify their efforts to make people realise that there are ample opportunities of earning livelihood for the educated youth of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, besides government jobs. He also stressed on the need to create a conducive and vibrant atmosphere for the aspiring entrepreneurs in the campus.
