JAMMU, Jan 27: Jammu Kashmir ReT Teachers’ Forum has been renamed as Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee with immediate effect.
This was announced Vinod Sharma, president of Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) and erstwhile JKRETF, while addressing a press conference, here today.
He said that this step has been taken in the backdrop of Government’s decision to close ReT scheme and to convert regularised ReTs to Teachers Grade II and Teachers Grade III. JKTJAC consists of Teachers Grade II , Teachers Grade III, 3rd teachers, left out ReTs and other teachers and leadership of the same will work with quite dedication to come up to the expectations of the teaching community, he added.
On the occasion, genuine issues of the cadre were also raised, which include; conversion of left out teachers and newly regularised ReTs to Teachers Grade II / Teachers Grade III as they are without salary for last one year and facing a lot of hardship to make their both ends.

JKTJAC leader also appealed the Lt Governor G C Murmu to resolve the long pending issues of the cadre such as: inclusion of 5 years ReT period for seniority benefits, comprehensive transfer policy for Teachers Grade II, Teachers Grade III and 3rd Teachers who have been working in the same schools for last more than 15 years, release pay arrears of regularised ReTs under SMAGRA.
