JAMMU, Jan 27: In order to promote tourism in the Union Territory of J&K, Tourism Department is going to adopt the best practices of Kerala tourism. In a series of interactions with the stakeholders of Kerala tourism the best practices being followed by Kerala tourism were discussed.
As a part of the ongoing Travel and Trade Fair (TTF) organized in Chennai, the exchange program of J&K with Tamil Nadu (TN) state in the cultural and tourism sector was also discussed.
Director Tourism Jammu, Deepika Sharma interacted with the officers of Ministry of Tourism and the stakeholders of Kerala and Tamil Nadu and emphasized better cooperation in tourism related activities. “We need to change the perception of the media and travel fraternity regarding J&K as tourist arrivals were more than 16 million in the last calendar year and shows the growing confidence of tourists to avail the varied tourism related avenues.” she said.
She emphasized the unwavering response to the pilgrim tourism in J&K and the immense potential in recreational and adventure tourism in Jammu region.
Nisar Ahmad Wani, Director Tourism Kashmir also interacted with the stakeholders.
