IRCON to execute road, bridge works in Jharkhand

JAMMU, Mar 25: IRCON International Limited, a Premier Construction Organisation and a CPSE under the Ministry of Railways, on March 23 signed a Tripartite Agreement with Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, and Government of Jharkhand for construction of roads and bridges in Jharkhand under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY). The Agreement was signed by RV Anand, ED (Works), IRCON; Dr PK Anand, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, and S K Satpathy, Principal Secretary, RWD-cum-Chief Executive Officer, Government of Jharkhand. Union Rural Development Minister, Jairam Ramesh was also present on the occasion. Senior officials from the Central and State Governments and IRCON were also present.
IRCON has successfully executed 2,400 kms of road works in 8 districts in the State of Bihar under the flagship scheme of PMGSY and approximetely. 330 kms of roads under Rastriya Sam Vikas Yojna (RSVY). Keeping this in view, the Government of Jharkhand has shown confidence in IRCON, thereby, awarding the execution works of road and bridge in the State of Jharkhand to the Company.
IRCON has so far successfully completed over 421 world-class projects in India and abroad. In all its projects IRCON has always adhered to high quality, safety and environment standards even under challenging circumstances and adverse geographical conditions.
In financial domain, during 2011-12, the Company achieved its highest ever turnover of Rs. 3782 crore, profit after tax of Rs 470 crore, and net foreign exchange of Rs 444 crore. During the last five years, the Company’s compounded growth rate has been 19.63% in terms of turnover and 40.24% in terms of PBT.
