Delegation of Gazetted Officers takes up issues with Advisor

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Jan 31: A delegation of Gazetted Officers under the banner of J&K Agriculture Officers Association Gazetted-DR (JKAOGA) met Advisor to LG Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar and apprised him about the prevailing adhocism in department in view of non settlement of seniority at the level of AEOs and above.
Dr Aadil Rashid, President of the Association informed the Advisor that Gazetted Officers are facing worst form of stagnation as they are retiring from the department in their entry level pay scale after rendering more than 35 years of service due to non implementation of ACP scheme and failure to conduct DPC of Gazetted cadre beyond AEO’s level for last 35 years.
Association members urged the Advisor to take up the mater of pay parity of AEOs with the other Gazetted technical cadre in view of declaration of UG degree in Agriculture as professional degree by ICAR.
While condemning the recently made statement of promotees about recruitment status of direct recruits, the members cleared the Advisor that they have been appointed against clear cut vacancies out of 50 per cent quota meant for direct recruits. Last recruitment of AEOs was made in 2008 against posts referred by Agriculture Production Department to PSC in 2005 and for last 11 years no recruitment of AEOs, direct quota has been made.
Advisor gave patient hearing to the delegation and assured them of early redressal to their grievance in a time bound manner.
