JAMMU, Feb 2: Canal Road police arrested three thieves and recovered stolen items from their possession.
As per police sources, some thieves barged into three shops in the jurisdiction of Canal Road Police Post and decamped with items including cameras during the intervening night of January 29 and 30 and a case under FIR Number 19/2020 under section 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Nowabad Police Station.
During the course of investigation, a team from Canal Road Police Post led by SI Rohit Bhagat arrested a person identified as Aakash, son of Ganpat of Suratgarh Rajasthan, at present Jewel Chowk, who was involved in the aforesaid case.
On his disclosure, two of his associates identified as Sameer Ahmed, son of Mubashir Hussain Bhat of Layan Bounjwa, District Kishtwar and Rahul Kumar, son of Santosh Kumar of Orissa, at present Krishna Nagar Canal Road were arrested.
On their disclosure, police team recovered stolen items including one laptop, one LCD, one DVR, three cameras, two mobiles phones, one Laptop bag and Rs 1,000 cash
Further questioning of the arrested persons is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
