JAMMU, Feb 2: Over 600 rural children, from classes 1 to 10, primarily from Government schools, today sat for scholarship tests at the offices of Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust (HBET) wherein over 80 per cent students were girls.
A handout stated that out of 600 students, scholarships will be given to 400.
Besides providing scholarships to students, the Trust also provides medical assistance and medicine apart from mentorship and counseling throughout the year to the students.
In the handout Managing Trustee of HBET, Kunil Bhalla stated that every year 50-70 new selected students are added for scholarship through written tests and home visits.
He further mentioned that financially weak families having children from classes 1 to 3 are welcome to contact HBET and apply for scholarship.
