SRINAGAR, Feb 4: Jammu and Kashmir Employees Coordination Committee (JKECC) today put forth an array of issues being faced by the employees across Jammu & Kashmir and demanded immediate resolution of the same.
President, JKECC Shah Fayaz, while addressing a press conference here said that there are more than 500 employees working in the Education Department who are suffering for last so many years.
“The empaneled ReTs are struggling for the want of justice from last so many years. We are seeing a ray of hope as the Government has formed a committee to look into such cases. We are demanding that the committee should get the things done well in time,” he demanded.
Commenting about the issues being faced by the contractual labourers, daily wagers and other need based workers are working in the departments, he said: “For last more than 18 years they are working in these departments, but nothing is being done with regard them. We demand that these employees should be regularized and their pending salaries and wages should be released immediately,” he said.
Asking the Government that the employees should be given loans on lowest interest rates, Shah said that 4.5 lakh Government employees are there in J&K and every employee has got a salary account with J&K Bank, “however, the bank is providing loans to the employees at the interest rate of 12.5, while as the bank is providing the same loans on comparatively lower interest rates,” he said.
He also demanded that the Government should do away with the routine of giving additional charges to the officials. “When such a thing is done, the officials fail to perform his duties; and the working of all the concerned departments get affected,” he said.
The President demanded the authorities should look into the issues and get the needful done in this regard. “We are appealing the LG G C Murmu to intervene into the matter,: he added.
