MENDHAR, Feb 5: A large number of workers who have been denied wages by the Rural Development Department under various MGNREGA works for the last over four years staged a protest demonstration and submitted memorandum to Sub Divisional Magistrate here.
MGNREGA workers assembled at Shahidi Yadgar in the middle of the town and raised slogans against Rural Development Department.
They alleged that concerned Village Level Workers (Gram Sevaks) were not paying their pending wages for the last over four years and even the matter was brought to the notice of BDO Mendhar, Balakote and Mankote but nothing fruitful emerged.
Leading the protest Sarfraz Choudhary said that protest will be intensified if wages were not paid within a week.
