KATHUA, Feb 5: Maintai-ning that OBCs have totally lost their faith in the BJP led Government which has deceived the community by promising the grant of 27 percent reservations as per the Mandal Commission recommendations, the All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) leaders warned to launch a decisive battle for their rights.
Talking to reporters here, OBC leaders said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi had promised 27 percent reservations to the OBCs during his 2014 election campaign. The community had pinned high hopes in the party especially after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35 A on August 5 but all were dashed to ground with the recent notification issued by J&K Government in this regard.
President of the Union, Abdul Majid Malik said what Home Minster said while abrogation of Article 370 did not translate into deeds so far as grant of 27 percent reservation to hapless class of OBCs in J&K is concerned. He said for OBCs BJP has proved in now way different from Congress, NC and PDP which cheated the community of their rights during last 30 years since the implementation of Mandal Commission report in rest of the country.
BJP’s promise and slogan of one nation one law has also proved hollow so far as the rights of OBCs are concerned, he added.
The speakers now question the so called OBC leaders working in different political parties including BJP who are supporting their respective political parties to loot the Constitutional rights of the poor OBCs and on what grounds these OBC leaders are in these political parties.
Besides, we also appeal to all the OBCs to join the AIBCU to make it strong for a big fight in future and work on the principle to sideline the political parties which are against the OBCs.
The press conference was organised by the district president, Kathua Rakesh Kumar and other local leaders also addressed it.
