SEECC urges Govt to concede demands of School Education employee

JAMMU, Feb 5: School Education Employees Coordination Committee (SEECC) today urged Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu to issue necessary instructions for conceding the demands of the School Education employees.
“We appeal the Government to concede the pending issues of the employees of the School Education Department and the Lt Governor should issue necessary instructions for the same,” said Ganesh Khajuria, Chairman Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum, while addressing a joint press conference with leaders of various bodies, which are constituent of the SEECC.
SEECC is the conglomerate consisting of JKTF, Principals’ Forum, Lecturers’ Forum, ZEOs Forum, Headmasters Forum, Non Teaching Employees Forum, United Office Assistant Forum and Contingent Paid/ Land Donors Worker Organisation.
Highlighting their issues, the SEECC leaders demanded creation of posts of Masters working as Head Teachers, filling up of vacant posts of all the cadres including CEOs, DIET Principals, Principals, ZEOs, ZEPOs, Senior Lecturers, Headmasters, Masters, Teachers and Ministerial Staff, regularization of all the I/C cadres in the Education department , to handover the complete control of JKBOSE to the offices of School Education Department, rationalization of the Teaching staff in hilly and far-flung areas on the basis of student enrollment, adjustment of surplus teaching staff including Lecturers, Masters and Teachers, removal of pay anomalies of Masters, Teachers and other cadres and Running Grade Pattern in favour of Lecturers.
The SEECC also appealed the Government to change the nomenclature of Class- IV Employees as Office Assistants on tha pattern of Animal Husbandry Department and regularization of Contingency Paid Workers working since decades and implement the Minimum Wages Act as per the Central 7th Pay Commission, regularization of the Teachers, Junior Assistants, Lab Assistants and conducting their DPCs as they are working in their Own Pay Grade (OPG) in the I/C capacity and creation of Teachers Welfare Fund on the pattern of J&K Police.
Ganesh Khajuria urged the Government to bring the Teaching faculty under the benefit of earned leave (Cash-in-lieu) at par with their counterparts of Central Government employees of School Education Department, provide the Infrastructure in all the Govt schools on the pattern of Kendriya Vidyalayas and enhancement of the honorarium of Mid-Day Meal Cooks working in the School Education Department by implementing the Minimum Wages Act.
During the press conference, Mr Khajuria was accompanied by Mohd Akbar Khan, President JKTF; Dr Manzoor, President JK Lecturers Forum, Surat Singh Toofani and others.
