BJP legislators demand President’s Rule in J&K

JAMMU, Mar 26: BJP MLAs in Jammu and Kashmir continued their dharna outside the State Legislature for the third day today demanding dismissal of the Government and imposing President’s rule, claiming that the NC-Congress Government’s policies were putting at risk the security of the State.
Wearing black ghowns  and carrying placards bearing anti- Government slogans, Party MLAs led by leader of the BJP Legislative Party, Ashok Khajuria, sat on dharna at the entrance of the State Legislature.
“We demand dismissal of the Government as it is a security risk for the country and the State. We request imposition of President’s rule in the State,” Khajuria told reporters here.
The BJP leader criticised the NC-led Government for its stance on execution of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru and arrested alleged militant Liyaqat Ali Shah.
He said BJP will continue to boycott the House till suspension of MLA Nagrota Jugal Kishore Sharma is revoked as he took principled stand on issues concerning the unity and integrity of the nation.
He said party will stand like a rock against the forces inimical to unity and integrity of the nation and frustrate their designs as it stands for abrogation of Article 370 and total merger of State with union of India.
National Conference had yesterday brought an adjournment motion in the Assembly to discuss the Liyaqat issue, but it was turned down by the Speaker.
