UDHAMPUR, Mar 26: Udhampur Police today seized 500 gm Charas from possession of a drug peddler from Utter Pradesh, who was arrested at Naka Point Kud.
Identity of the drug peddler has been established as Dilshad Ahmed of Rehar Bijnoor in Uttar Pradesh. A case under NDPS Act has been registered against him at Police Station Kud.
Reports said that acting on specific information, a police party led by SHO Kud Ajit Singh and SDPO Chenani Gian Chand Sharma, under the supervision of SP Udhampur Benam Tosh, laid a naka at Kud this morning. On noticing the surprise naka, the drug peddler, who was traveling in a passenger bus, tried to flee but was chased and arrested by the police party besides recovery of 500 gm Charas from his possession.
