JAMMU, Feb, 8: Chairman People’s Democratic Front, Hakeem Yaseen has expressed dismay over the decision of Central Government to do away with the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services Cadre and withdrawal of five years age relaxation in Civil Services examinations to the candidates of Jammu and Kashmir terming it contrary to the promises made in the Indian Parliament that Union Territory status to the State was temporary and ambit of employment for J&K youth would be expanded beyond limits.
In a statement, Hakeem Yaseen has said that these decisions were against the interests of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir which have direct bearings on their future.
“The anti- youth decisions of the Government to withdraw 5 years age relaxation in Civil Services examinations for the youth of the State and termination of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services Cadre are unfortunate enough, taken up hastely without applying mind and logic as the State was passing through a sensitive phase of socio-political upheaval, Yaseen added.
He said by taking these harsh steps,Central and State governments have disappointed youth of the state making them annoyed against the polic makers at the helm of affairs. He said it was astonishing and beyond any sense as to why Government was resorting to more and more provocative steps notwithstanding the fact it would only add to the alienation among the people of the State.
Yaseen urged upon the Prime Minister of India to revoke these decisions as early as possible to remove the prevailing anger and despair among the people of the State especially educated youth.
“Prime Minister should himself intervene in the matter and see who are behind initiating such irresponsible anti people acts,” Hakeem Yaseen added.
