UDHAMPUR, Feb 8: Aggrieved over the worst condition of Kagote to Barota road in Ramnagar Tehsil, locals held a strong protest demonstration against Public Works Department and demanded repair as well as black topping the road.
The protesting villagers raised slogans against the district administration and PWD for their failure to repair the road. They threatened to continue the protests till the road is repaired.
The protesting villagers said that due to worst condition of the road and big potholes pits in 12 km long stretch, operators of minibuses and buses avoiding plying their vehicles on the road with the result locals have to reach their destinations on foot. Students and school staff are among the most affected because of no vehicle plying on the road
Locals said that the repair work was started when back to village 2 programme was launched but soon after completion of the programme, the work was stopped.
