Mayor chairs Finance & Planning, GFSC meets

JAMMU, Feb 11: Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chander Mohan Gupta today chaired the meetings of Finance and Planning and General Function Standing Committees (GFSC) in the conference hall of Corporation here.
Commissioner, JMC, Avny Lavasa was also present in the meetings. The meetings were also attended by the members of the Finance and Planning Standing Committee including Ashok Singh, Anil Kumar Masoom, Anil Kumar, Anita Sharma, Sunita Koul,  Nidhi Mangotra, Neena Gupta and Gourav Chopra besides the Members of General Function Standing Committee namely- Dinesh Gupta, Bhanu Mahajan, Neeraj Puri, S. Sucha Singh, Sunita Gupta, Akshay Sharma and Anu Bali.
Joint Commissioner (Adm) JMC, Ashish Gupta being the Member Secretary of both the Standing Committee(s), Assistant Commissioner (R) Prem Singh, Secretary, JMC Tinna Mahajan, Chief Accounts Officer, Joginder Sharma and other senior officers of JMC and UEED remained present in the meeting.
During the meetings, a number of decisions were taken for better functioning of Jammu Municipal Corporation. Mayor, JMC briefed the members about the utilization of funds under the 14th Finance Commission. He directed the concerned authorities to speed up the revenue collection by all the wings of JMC. He said notices should be issued to those commercial buildings that have no parking space in their premises. He further directed the authorities that Birth and Death  certificates  and Building permissions to be issued online. The fee also to be deposited online and certificates to be delivered  to the applicants through registered post.
He also directed that compost pits be prepared in every park and banners be installed in every ward for awareness of public to desist from open defecation, open urination and littering. For user charges billing system being generated soon. 2000 stickers will be issued to each ward Councillor for awareness programme for sanitation and restrict  the general public for using polythene. Public toilets being made compulsory in all the commercial establishments.
Mayor assured all the members that necessary steps shall be taken for smooth functioning of the Corporation and speedy disposal of the grievances of the general public.
