Father of five minor daughters hangs self to death

BHADERWAH, Feb 12: A heartbroken father of five minor girls allegedly hanged himself here today after he reportedly failed in financial battle to help his family.
Tilak Raj, 36, the lone bread earner of the eight member family was a vendor by profession and belonged to Below Poverty Line (BPL) family.
“He was a depressed person as he was unsuccessfully fighting the poverty and pay the debt to make both ends meet and to give a better life to her 5 daughters, wife and grandmother”, said Satish Kumar, Naib Sarpanch Bheja Panchayat of Bhaderwah.
“As he was the only male member of the family, now we appeal to the authorities that they should extend a helping hand to the poor family on humanitarian grounds”, Naib Sarpanch added.
Tilak Raj, son of late Puran Chand was found dead at the home he shared with his grandmother, wife and 5 daughters in Bheja village of Bhaderwah.
Police found his body hanged with the ceiling after villagers informed them about the incident.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased has been handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
In this regard, inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC has been initiated by Bhaderwah Police.
