Jammu, Feb 12: Khalid Hussain, well known Punjabi and Urdu writer, has been bestowed with awards by two literary organizations from Punjab, for his contribution to modern Punjabi literature.
‘Kalam Punjabi Writers Association, Pakhwara, Punjab, has also bestowed the Kalam Award’ upon Khalid Hussain. The ‘Kalam Award’ comprises of a citation and cash award of Rs 21, 000/.
Punjabi Sahitya Akademi, Ludhiana, also has announced a cash award of Rs 51, 000/ along with a citation. The award will be given in March at Ludhiana.
