REASI, Feb 12: Peeved over no supply of drinking water from last six days, locals staged a strong protest against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department and district administration.
A large number of locals assembled at Zanana Park, Reasi from where the protest took out a protest march through Main Bazar. Protestors also blocked main bus stand road. They alleged: “From the past six days, there is no drinking water supply due to the ongoing strike of PHE employees and we are suffering to meet our basic requirements.”
Locals rued that the administration at winter capital has succeeded in providing water to public of Jammu but Reasi administration has failed to do so. “The concerned officials of Reasi are least bothered about the supply of drinking water to the residential areas,” they alleged.
ADC Reasi along with other officials visited the spot and pacified the protestors by assuring that the issue will be redressed at the earliest.
