SRINAGAR, Feb 12: High Court today directed the Government to conduct an enquiry by an officer not below the rank of Director with regard to appointment of a person as Rehber-e-Taleem in violation of the rules.
The appointment of one Priti Rani as ReT was withdrawn by the officials of Education Department on the ground that the engagement was erroneous and was violation of the rules. “Inasmuch as, the appointment was wrongly made, the present case is a fit case where the salary, which was paid to the respondent No. 5, deserves to be recovered from the person(s) who effected wrong selection and appointment”, Division Bench of Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Rajesh Bindal said.
Court in view of the wrong doing by the officials in the instant case directed the Secretary to Government, School Education Department to get an enquiry conducted by an officer not below the rank of Director into the circumstances in which the appointment of Priti was made, as also apportion the responsibility.
“The Secretary to Government, School Education Department shall ensure that such enquiry is completed within a period of two months from the receipt of copy of the order. Action taken report shall be filed before the next date of hearing”, DB directed.
