UDHAMPUR, Feb 14: Udhampur Police foiled two separate attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued 22 animals besides arresting six accused.
Giving details, SSP Rajiv Pandey said that a Police party led by SHO Udhampur, Inspector Vijay Singh Choudhary, under the supervision of Rohit Chadgal, Dy SP Hqrs Udhampur and Rajinder Singh Katoch, Addl SP Udhampur, laid a naka at Jakhani Chowk area on the National Highway and intercepted two Tata Mobile vehicles bearing registration number JK14E 8468 and JK14E 8047.
During checking, 11 bovine animals were found loaded in both the vehicles without any valid permission. All the bovine animals were rescued and accused smugglers namely Latief Mohd of Thalpar, Mushtaq Ahmed of Thalpar and Mukhtyar Ahmed of Thalpar were arrested on the spot. In this connection, two cases under relevant sections of law were registered at PS Udhampur.
In another case, Police party of Police Station Chenani, led SHO Paramjeet Singh, under the supervision of Santokh Raj Deol, SDPO Chenani , laid a naka at Motorshed, National Highway, Chenani and intercepted two more Tata Mobile vehicles bearing registration number JKO2BX-2062 and JK20B 0438. During search, 11 more bovine animals were found loaded in both the vehicles. All the bovine animals were rescued and three accused namely Rashid Mohd of Dansal, Naseem Ali of Panjgarain and Shabir Ahmed of Mahore were arrested on the spot. In this connection, two cases under relevant sections of law were registered at PS Chenani.
