JAMMU, Mar 28: The Government today tabled a bill for setting up a Golf Development and Management Authority (GDMA) for the maintenance, creation, marketing and management of golf courses in the State.
On the behalf of Minister for Tourism G A Mir, Minister of state for Home, Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo tabled the bill in the State Assembly for maintenance, creation, marketing, management of golf courses in the state.
Under the bill, the Government proposes to constitute Jammu and Kashmir GDMA for administration, management and governance of golf courses as may be notified by the Government from time to time.
Chief Minister will head the authority, which will 17 other members.
The objective of the authority shall be to promote and secure the development of golf courses according to plan, carry out building, engineering and other operations to execute works in connection with supply of water, electricity, disposal of sewerage and other service amenities.
There are six golf courses in the State and several others are being constructed. (AGENCIES)
