Mayor visits Peerkho, adjoining areas

JAMMU, Feb 15: In order to review the arrangements for the devotees on the coming Maha Shivratri festival falling on, February 20, Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) along with Rajesh Gupta Ex.MLA, Vinay Gupta Jammu district, president BJP, Narotam Sharma, Gopal Gupta councillors of Ward No.3 & 5 respectively, Ravi Dass Ji Mahant of Peerkho temple and prominent citizens of Jammu as well as devotees of temple visited the temple today.
Staff of Engineering, Health, Electrical & other sections of JMC also accompanied the Mayor during the tour. He directed all the officers to deploy more men and machinery on the ongoing development, renovation and face-lifting works enroute as well as in and around the whole complex of Peerkho temple as large number of devotees from Jammu & Kashmir visited this holy and ancient temple to have darshan of Baba Bhola Nath on the festival of Maha Shivratri .
He also reviewed the proper parking facilities of the vehicles & directed the Electrical Section to install more LED high mask as well as street lights in all the left over route of the temple so that devotees may not suffer due to prevailing darkness. Later Mayor also visited Gujjar Nagar and its surrounding areas of Ward No.6 along with Mohi-Ul-Din Chowdhary councillor of the Ward and reviewed the ongoing development works of drain & lanes there.
Large number of inhabitants of the Ward who were present there complimented the Mayor for taking keen interest in the development of their locality and requested for installation of more street lights, in the left over lanes of Gujjar Nagar as well as deployment of extra SKC’s for better sanitation. He directed the officers of JMC to resolve the issues of the Ward No.6 on war footing regarding sanitation, street lights, lifting of stray dogs/animals. He also appealed to the general public to come forward and cooperate with Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) in the development works started by JMC, UEED & other allied departments. He urged them not to throw filth, garbage, silt etc in the public lanes, drains, plant more and more saplings around their surroundings, adopt the habit of segregation of dry & wet waste at their own level, refrain from using polythenes & single used plastics in their routine work so that Jammu can be developed really a smart city under swachh Bharat Mission.
