BJP should stop taking credit for UPA Govt’s achievements: PCC

JAMMU, Feb 15: The Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has said that nothing can be bigger lie than claiming credit by the BJP for the five Govt Medical Colleges and two Cancer Institute’s sanctioned by the previous UPA Govt at the Centre besides the AIIMS in Jammu secured by the people after a long drawn agitation.
In a statement JKPCC chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma said that BJP and its leaders have developed the art of befooling the people by their false publicity but the human memory is not too short to remember the achievements of different periods. He said that five GMCs and two Cancer Institute’s were sanctioned by the UPA Govt for Jammu and Kashmir under the Health Ministership of Ghulam Nabi Azad, whose efforts yielded fruits, although the previous PDP-BJP Govt and the BJP Govt at the Centre delayed the execution of these projects.
As regards, the ongoing projects of AIIMS in Jammu, the people of Jammu Region are aware how the same was sanctioned for Jammu but declared for Kashmir only as a result people launched an agitation and observed bandhs to get the same, although BJP tried to weaken the agitation and fail the bandh but it was the determination of Jammu people to get the same.
The Congress leader also reminded the BJP leaders about the massive development and creation of large scale infrastructure during the UPA regime at the Centre, especially in the Health sector. He said that two Super Specialty Hospitals in Srinagar and Jammu besides upgradation of Gandhinagar, Sarwal and Various other hospitals at District, Sub-District and other required locations speaks of the developmental achievements of Congress Governments at the Centre and in the State. The BJP leaders should shun their old habit of befooling Jammu people, PCC chief spokesperson said.
