4 bovines rescued

SAMBA, Feb 15: Continuing its drive against the bovine smuggling, district police Samba has foiled yet another attempt to smuggle bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur.
As per reports in the early morning hours, a police party of Police Station, Vijaypur during vehicle checking Naka at NHW Rakh Barotian, Vijaypur intercepted a Mahindra Bolero load carrier bearing Regd. No. PB06AS – 4629 which was coming from Kathua side and moving towards Jammu.
During the checking of the vehicle four bovines were found laden inside it which were being transported illegally. All the four bovines were rescued but the driver of the vehicle fled away from the spot taking the advantage of darkness. The vehicle was also seized by the police.
In this regard a case FIR No 26/2020 under section 188 IPC , 2/3PCA Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.
It may be recalled that Samba police had rescued 12 bovine animals yesterday. The district police has launched a vigorous drive against the drug trafficking and bovine smuggling under the directives of SSP Samba, Shakti Pathak and Additional SP, Samba Faisal Qureshi.
