JAMMU, Feb 15: The 7th Convocation of Desh Bhagat University was held at Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib auditorium.
About 1,200 degrees related to PhD, MPhil, Masters and Graduation were awarded in this Convocation.
Chief guest Biswabhusan Harichandan Governor Andhra Pradesh, University Chancellor Dr Zora Singh and other respected guests were welcomed by Vice-President Dr Sandeep Singh.
The Governor while speaking said that the future always depends on your dreams and it is your chance to go and fulfil your dreams. He inspired the students to stay away from social evils and work for development.
Addressing the gathering of guests and students, Chancellor Dr Zora Singh told the students that this is a special moment in your life after which you have to get involved in one of life’s important struggles and contribute to the progress of the country. He also said that we need more to adopt a positive attitude towards life so that we can fulfill our and our parents’ dreams.
Pro Chancellor Dr. Tejinder Kaur gave best wishes to students for their bright future.
On the occasion, Biswabhusan Harichandan Governor Andhra Pradesh, Dr Dnyaneshwar Mulay, Punjabi Actor Binu Dhillon, Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, Dr Badrinath Patnaik, Rajesh Kumar Sharma and Ravinder P Singh Bedi were awarded a Doctorate Degree by Desh Bhagat University for outstanding contribution in various fields.
Dr Christopher Navanru from Nigeria, Dr Jagannath Patnaik Vice Chancellor ICFAI University, Dr Badrinath Patnaik and former Secretary of Foreign Affairs Dr Dnyaneshwar Mule joined as special guest.
Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Vimal Sikri, Registrar Kulbhushan, Dr Sanjeev Goel, MK Agarwal, Additional General Manager Indian Overseas Bank Kashmir Singh and Director Dr Surjit Patheja also made a special contribution.
Vice-Chancellor of University Dr Shalini Gupta read the academic report and highlighted the achievements of the university.
